Alnwick Garden is a private garden where 5 hectares are accessible to the public. It lies in the borders of the City of Alnwick in Northumberland, 10 minutes from the North Sea coast and Edinburgh.
The spine of the garden was formed by a curving cascade and hornbeam bowers, leading to a geometrically decorative garden with borders of blooming plants and roses.
Near the visitors’ pavilion, a rose garden and a bamboo maze on a raised bed receive the company of a water garden, created from water sculptures by Willian Pye, in a configuration of trimmed yews.
To the east lies a poison garden and a cherry orchard open to visitors. All other elements, such as a spiral and a sensory garden, are still to be built.
